Chartres illuminé

dscn0349The cathedral at Chartres is well-known for its stained glass windows. Less known is the magnificent light show that illuminates each statue, each image, each window in brilliant color each summer. In fact, monuments throughout the city are illuminated, and the show is entirely free. You can walk it, or you can pay for the “petit train” to take you around.  This is one of the cathedral entryways, and only one of several beautiful images I captured this past summer. Not to be missed in any case, thus illuminated, the cathedral enthralls.
